EPIC v. Department of Justice was a 2007 case in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia between the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) involving the Department of Justice refusing to comply with rules laid out in the Freedom of Information Act when EPIC requested documents pertaining to George W. Bush's authorization of NSA warrantless surveillance.[1]
